M.G. Rhoads (Writer, Inker, and Owner of Process Cat)
M.G. Rhoads is a Manufacturing Engineer – turned Writer and Educator. She helps Makers, Inventors, and other Creators learn what big companies know about how to run an effective and profitable manufacturing operation.
In her previous career, M.G. earned a master’s degree in Materials Science Engineering and worked as a research technician at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), then as a Process Development Engineer at a medical device company.
During that time she started visiting local Maker Spaces in the evenings, and was blown away by the enthusiasm and ingenuity of the creators she met! But she started to notice something missing in the educational resources available to the Maker community.
It was great that people could learn about 3D printers, CNC machines, and the like. But what was missing was fun, accessible information on the other half of running a good manufacturing process: process engineering, to be specific! Ultimately she decided to heed Mahatma Gandhi’s famous advice, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” So she started Process Cat!
M.G. lives with her husband in Portland, Maine, where she enjoys working out (really!), drinking red wine, and watching standup comedy.
